If you are unaware of the term, Festival Of The Unexceptional for which I think the cut-off is 25+ years old ie 2001 or older.  I'm a little disillusioned at the moment in that there aren't really any what I consider to be modern enough to be daily drivable but "special" cars in my budget ie practical enough for family duties, with a nice engine and without exorbitant running costs.  That said, there are plenty of ordinary cars that I am happy to drive on a daily basis that meet my requirements apart from the "special" bit, so I have been thinking that a cheapish and sensible daily and a "mode

So I have recently acquired (for free) a circa 1973 Speedaire 20 gallon compressor with no history. After a short while of use the check valve failed and when I removed it I noticed it and the air manifold it was threaded into was all gunked up with oil. It actually wasn't that bad given the 40 years of age, but enough to destroy the plunger in the check valve and make things in there a bit messy. It is my understanding that the piston rings were letting some oil by, leading to the build up. 재건축한 엔진(스코다 에스텔/120 '72, RWD, 후방 장착 엔진) 시동 시 시동이 걸리지만 어려움. 다량의 흰색 또는 연한 회색 연기 발생. 첫 번째 크랭크(냉각수 없이)에서 워터펌프와 서모스탯 케이싱에서 미세한 연기 발생(페인트, 장착유 등 소소됨). 두 번째 크랭크에서 출수 호스를 양동이에 넣었을 때 기포 없음(압축이 냉각 시스템으로 유입되지 않음 추정). 다량의 연기 지속.

2006 Chevy Malibu: 주행등이 자동차 꺼진 상태에서 무작위로 켜짐. 라이트 스위치가 OFF 위치인데도 불구하고 켜지며, 때로는 꺼지지 않아 배터리 방전. 내부 라이트는 OFF 상태. 좌측 방향지시등 레버(턴 시그널 스톡)가 ON 위치에서 유지되지 않음.

2009 혼다 Jazz가 코로나 제한으로 인해 사용 빈도가 낮아짐. 배터리 상태가 좋지 않아 주 1회 15-20분 주행으로도 배터리 완전 방전 우려. 도로에 주차되어 있음.

자동차를 오후에 시작할 때와 달리 하루 중 다른 시간에 시작한 후 RPM이 높게 나타남. 높은 기온의 날씨에도 동일한 현상 발생. 1.5 수동 혼다 모빌리오.

Opel Zafira B (2007, 수동변속기) 메인 키로는 전자장비는 켜지지만 엔진 始動 불가, 始動 시도 음성도 없음. 예비 키로는 정상 始動 및 주행 가능. 메인 키는 4~5회 중 1회만 始動 작동함.

2007 쉐보레 루미나의 에어컨 작동 불량. 배터리 음극 단자 부식으로 인한 시동 불량 후, 정비사가 단자를 충분히 조이지 않아 배터리가 분리되었을 때 차량이 꺼짐. 단자를 손으로 눌러 시동 후 에어컨이 작동하지 않음.

AC를 켜면 RPM이 떨어집니다. 정지 상태에서 액셀을 계속 밟아야 합니다. 주행 중에는 괜찮지만 정체된 교통에서는 AC를 꺼야 합니다. 여름에 너무 덥습니다. 랜서 에보 VIII입니다.

5년 전부터 차고에 보관된 디젤 차량. 당시에는 완벽하게 작동했고 연료탱크가 가득 찬 상태였음. 배터리가 분리되어 있었음. 새 배터리로 교체 후 전동 시동모터는 작동하지만 엔진이 시동되지 않음.

시동을 걸려고 했을 때 많은 경고등이 켜졌다가 바로 꺼졌으나 시동이 걸리지 않음. 배터리 충전기를 15-20분간 연결했으나 효과 없음. 라이트 스위치의 표시등이 깜빡이며 딸깍거리는 소리 발생. 브레이크 페달을 밟으면 멈춤. 라이트 스위치를 끄도록 해도 주황색 경고등이 꺼지지 않음.

배터리 교환

울란바토르의 극저온(-40°C, -36°C)에서 현대 베르나 2006년형 1.5 터보 디젤 엔진 시동 불가. 3개월 전 12V 80Ah 배터리와 글로우 플러그 교체함. 글로우 플러그 가열 후 크랭킹을 5회 반복하면서 배터리 방전. 크랭킹할 때마다 엔진음이 약해지고 크랭킹 속도는 점점 빨라지며 시동 직전까지 간 상태.

전기 구동 슈퍼차저의 부스트 압력을 스로틀(엔진 RPM) 증감에 따라 조절해야 하는가?

Huge fan, ran a Mk1 as s daily for 5 years and used to follow the value of these a bit as it was the next car until a sprog meant needed 4 doors. Had a look after reading this and quite a few today around the £40K+ mark in the classifieds with low miles, no doubt destined to sit in a garage like this one and hope to hit the crazy heights of anything with a Cosworth badge in 15-10 years time or are the current owners not seeing much more upside and moving them on, who knows.Id love to pay mid -higher 20s for a used one, with some clubsport goodies and mods and enjoy it

Saw a truck from Whip Street motors this morning, ELV and used parts supplier. Ipswich based. Not 1 but 2 E24 on the truck, both looked complete save 1 front bumper missing. Might be useful info for someone.
