My question is, is the cost of fuel in the UK a deliberate move to get people into EV's? but so they can be taxed even more?Someone who swaps a perfectly good ICE for an EV to save money is probably a bit thick which is why they need to save money but keep on spending more. However, if you have a car that is reaching end of life or end of rental then it's perfectly logical, in fact someone would be very dim not to, to evaluate what the replacement would be best suited to be propelled by. I have a 2009 120D sitting outside that is pretty close to throwing a bill that will see it binned. For what it is used for it would be very stupid to not replace it with a 3 year old, cheap EV. For someone else their usage and needs would dictate that this would be a silly move and that a three year old ICE was the smart replacement. I also have an S4 estate sitting outside. That won't need replacing for years but later this morning I need to drive somewhere where there is no petrol station on the way and I got back from London last night on fumes with all the local stations closed and stubbornly refusing to pay £2/litre at services. So now I have to drive in the opposite direction for 5 miles to fill up and just plugging in last night would have been a benefit. I like the S4 and it serves an important function where current EVs and infrastructure would on the whole add inconvenience but I think I'm just going to buy 2 cheap EVs next year. Possibly a strange topic for some, but I’ve always had a fascination with headlamp washers, and in particular systems that involve wipers. I’ve had a couple, namely a Saab 900 and an E30 BMW. This looks fantastic. I think it's got to a point you'd have to be daft to buy the G90 M5 over this or a top end Taycan. Either pure combustion or pure electric, the PHEVs are just a pointless, overcomplicated middle option
