I had to do a decent round trip today. Mix of roads including some motorway. Lots of people doing 60 in a 70 resulting in all sorts of stuff jockeying for position and a congested queue behind each of these road captains.I also saw the example of an increasingly common EV driver habit, which is take off like a scalded cat, then get snarky when you want to pass them at what they must consider an inappropriate speed, their bottle goes, or their car runs out of puff. Around 750 would do me. Can go higher with a tuned turbo, but that’s just silly.

If, like me, you’re a convertible convert you really don’t give a crap whether other people think you’re a poser or having a mid life crisis. Having the roof down is on of life’s great tonics, adding a sensory element that no tin top can compete with. I think it was Clarkson who said that any car with its roof off becomes instantly miles better (probably on one of their specials) and he is spot on.
