Had an earlier non-R-Design / satnav version. It was a great car and great engine in it, small for a Volvo estate, so no room for family + dogs + luggage - one of those 3 things had to stay at home.But all you'd expect from Volvo in terms of quality build, a nice design (for the time), and really quite a lot of power (for the time) in what was a physically small estate. Would I pay £12k for it now? Not a chance

An oil drain valve is a device that replaces your regular drain bolt and makes an oil change a much cleaner job. And why? Not all of these are "bad" cars but I have just never liked them for one reason or another. So in no particular order:1) Austin Metro/Maestro - one of my best friends had both of these in sixth form and all I can say is that they were marginally better than getting the bus but had just as little cred and both seemed very dated against the competition almost as soon as they had been launched. The MG versions can have a bye and it's not an Austin Rover thing, as I didn't mind the Montego and like Rovers in general. I guess a tidy Austin Metro would have some FOTU cred but the Maestr

I had my first accident two days ago (minimal injuries so don't worry about that), and it's got me thinking about a lot of different aspects to driving and cars, such as braking. Had my braking been even slightly less effective, it would have been a very different story. This lead me to do research on cars with good 60 mph - 0 mph distances, but in doing so someone claimed that it was effectively just a tire comparison. So is this true?
