고성능 엔진(BMW M3, Ferrari, Koenigsegg 등)을 저속/저회전으로만 운전해도 괜찮은지 궁금함. 차량이 충분한 토크를 가지고 있어서 보수적인 도로 주행 시 최소 스로틀과 저RPM으로 운전 가능. 하지만 '이탈리안 튠-업' 같은 고회전 주행이 필수인지 의문.

I've been watching Pete's Garage on YouTube and the guy is absolutely amazing and very enlightening on the subject. He has at least one video on engine painting but he mentions it in a number of other videos. However, he doesn't really expound on why an engine should be painted. What are the benefits of painting an engine? For example, my Tacoma has an aluminum block and aluminum heads but they are not painted. Why are some other engines painted?

There are a number of different types of active suspension including pneumatic and magnetic , but to my knowledge, in practice, these are all classified as semi-active, since there are other non-active components (e.g. spring and sway bars) that are also part of the vehicle's suspension. It seems to me that if we could have a single actuator at each wheel and omit all of the currently used passive components (and their weight!), that this would be very attractive for some applications in which cost is not the major impediment, such as some racing series and for some very high end sports cars.

So I've bought another XJ-S, and this time it's the XJ-S that starred in the recent Sky series 'Curfew', which stars Sean Bean (who drives this car). It got delivered last night after I purchased it at the H&H auction in Buxton on Wednesday - and its already taken a bit of a battering over on the Classics Spotted thread. Obviously the car isn't standard, and amongst the modifications is the addition of a manual gearbox, upgraded suspension (from the brief look I had under the car), a hydraulic handbrake, a tiny race fuel tank, wider arches and wheels and the side exit exhausts. It will sell... However the absence of any primary dash control buttons presents a perfect environment for driver distractions and collisions. Mobile phone use is banned yet operating design compels drivers to use a screen whilst forfeiting tactile touch. Safety is compromised. So much for the construction and use regulations. Someone must have done a study on this by now.
