If I'm on a motorway and getting low - not often - I just open up Maps and search for an option just off the motorway. I always try to go to a Tesco for their 99 because I don’t like to use anything else. So I've now got to know where there are some Tesco nowhere near where I live.

Adjusted for inflation via the BoE s calculator, today that d be £115,877. Whereas the Emira 420 s base price is £105,900.See, cars are getting cheaper But was the Esprit not supposed to be competing with altogether more serious cars at the time?I was about to say this competes with the 718 GT4, but realised that's no longer being sold new, or at least it isn't on the configurator. I recently sold my Volvo V60 R Design, nice car, nice engine (5 cylinder of course..mmmm) but didn't do anything else for me, silly low profile tyres (i know spec sensitive), potentially ruinous in all aspects, and just wasn't being used mainly, a depreciating asset costing me money just sat there! - so sold it, got a good price as the used market is still silly, but good for sellers of course. So, we have been down to a one car family, the BMW E91 is still trooping along, we have managed fine with the one car up to now with abit of juggling, but - I have been tempted to buy a cheap shed/run ab

The more you look into the history of BL the more astonishing it is that it managed to survive as long as it did. It is a history of constant underinvestment and shooting themselves in the foot anytime they got near to a success. The morris minor was a success. It sold well but was in need of replacement by the end of the sixties. Fast approaching was a likely entry into the EEC with the opportunity to export to Europe and the double edged sword of imports eroding home sales. So a new car was doubly justified that would be miles ahead of the minor. No, let’s re-body it and call it a Marina.

Thanks everyone.I ended up going non-BB. £1650 with Direct Line (and that was the 'Prestige' so includes breakdown, legal, PI, enhanced courtesy car, belongings cover etc - the 'essential' version was £1480).All BB policies that were cheaper looked very restrictive and with poor feedback (over sensitive smoothness scores etc), and whilst there were plenty that only tracked speed (+10mph) and hours (11pm to 6am), they were no cheaper so it seemed to be a no brainer.Plus, I've driven with her and obviously know her personality. She's not a reckless driver and is comfortable being cautious. The cl

Me and a friend were talking about this a few evenings ago. My first car (back in 1991) was a MK2 Escort, this had 13 inch diameter wheels. My current car's (Ford Focus) brake discs are 363mm (so over 14 inches)! Edited by zetec on Sunday 26th July 12:32

I was looking at the latest news about Tesla's Cybertruck, and how the whole project is basically that episode of The Simpsons where a company gets Homer to design a car. Elon Musk has now said that making it profitable and scaling its production is going to be really difficult so it could all be quite damaging for Tesla, financially speaking. That said, despite the thread title I don't believe Cybertruck is going to kill Tesla - pre-orders suggest it'll sell well and their fans are pseudo-religious - but it got me wondering about models that had failed so badly that they threatened or even kil

Too much stigma, too much cliche and not a huge fan of the design of them. What stigma do you perceive with the MX5?Probably a gay hair dressers car I aren t saying they are. They are very good apparently. But that is the stigma attached to them.As for recommendations I d reckoned a mx5! Yep, most of the cars in this thread are "gay hairdresser cars." So the OPer should "man up" and add another £10k to the budget (because he's a man and can do that) and buy a TVR Griffith.

To my mind SUVs are the bulk of the issue - where most drivers in the past would have bought a hatchback if they had no need for regular massive boot space, or an estate where they had that need often, now very few of either are sold and instead everyone's buying lardy pretend off-roaders to drive around city / urban areas where they are completely pointless and unnecessary. If that trend could somehow be reversed, the roads

Well firstly there is the cost of redoing parking spaces plus the subsequent reduction in the amount of spaces. Reduced income plus the cost of redoing the work. So I wouldn't think it's that easy tbh. You are confusing "ease" with "desirability". It is easy to do, they just don't want to.
