Super Unleaded was £1.85 when I filled the M4 the other day as well. It makes you a bit grumpy I reckon, well it does me anyway. I charged my iX last night : £2.80 for 265 miles But did you get a £1000 bill the next day for your monthly lease cost though? (Or even £6-700 tax saving one). It’s a high price to pay to for a small ‘fuel’ bill…

Another 5-10 years and this goes away along with the destination charging inconveniences. Until then, for someone like me the EV remains the perfect short haul solution but a terrible long haul one. Well we've been over it many times, but the common sense conclusion is that it would be fairly rare to pull in to a motorway service station refill only and leave. Most people will stretch their legs, use the loo, maybe grab a coffee. And that 15-20 mins isnt far away from the charging time of a modern EV.The other point being do that many people do long haul runs very often? If so then yeah its up to them if they want the "bother" of an EV or the "bother" of the big fuel spend each month in an ICE car. That said, our LR Tesla is saying 367 miles on a full charge (and thats on the 19 inch wheels). Thats giving us a range of a 650 - 700 mile return trip, charging at the destination before returning. aAnd for those doing regular, what, 1000 mile return journies, is one charging stop along the way on each leg enough to make an EV a "terrible" solution? It's all depends on the individual. Next week, through piss poor planning on my part, I have to do work and back in a day. My EV won't quite do it on a single charge. I could take the D3 or the M3 but current fuel price will make it a £100 for the round trip. The R53 is out of action. I'll use the EV because, even charging at Cobham on the way home, it'll cost maybe £40 and add 30 - 40 min to my journey. I can see that for some, they value their time more than £2 a min. I should add, commuting I never normally stop there. Cobham is OK but I wouldn't spend time there if I didn't have to.Oh absolutely. Personal choice and all that. DA seemed to be dismissing an EV

This looks fantastic. I think it's got to a point you'd have to be daft to buy the G90 M5 over this or a top end Taycan. Either pure combustion or pure electric, the PHEVs are just a pointless, overcomplicated middle option

Still as subtle as a brick in your face. Not for me.

Other than a slightly bulky rear end, I think that looks fantastic. 9/10. And it's a saloon, not another bloody SUV - hurrah!
