I like V8's, and I like that you can hear the engine/exhaust more in a convertible generally as well. So count me in. I always enjoyed driving my BiL's E93 M3 too, plus I've also always fancied a V8 Mustang.

I actually bought a convertible by chance, I was after a Saab and wanted the 1.9ttid engine in whatever body shape. Nicest model I came across was a convertible 9-3 which I kept for 3 years or so. One of the things that I loved was going out for a drive with my kids. They loved the roof down on a nice day and it definitely made the driving enjoyable on the right day. Once I no longer needed a diesel (ironically I do now!) I bought this 2008 BMW 650. It's not super quick but quick enough and the noise with the roof down is great. I love how it looks but appreciate it's a bit Marmite. It'd be a toss up between an S63 or an M6 convertible but when you have the roof down an S500 or 650 would be just as pleasing. That BMW trumps everything on the PH list which is a dissapointing one for me, Mustang excepted.

Regarding the biggest bill, I think I will still never ever get over the £800 oil filter housing gasket for my Gallardo or the £600 exhaust clamp (4 required!)
