Things like steering feel, adjustable balance, exploitable performance (you can ring it's neck with much less fear of going to prison) small size etc, all of which are alien to modern cars. Try driving a challenging B road with some commitment in a modern equivalent. You find yourself going way too fast, unable to play with the balance. Modern cars are Playstation by comparison. If you want to go fast and metaphorically kick the sand in the face of other road users, by a new performance car - bear in mind the other road users could do the same. If you want to learn the art of how to hustle a car on the edge of it's balance, conserving momentum we are in a place that speculation has gotten the better of enthusiasts ability to pay. That's an interesting insight. Back in the 80s budget constraints meant I owned mostly Fords, but I do remember my MK2 Escort RS2000 being so much more fun to throw around an empty B road than the Capri 2.8i that followed it - even if the powertain felt a bit agricultural!Given how much E30 M3 owners love them I'd like to drive one, but with prices at this level I doubt I ever will.

This advertorial stuff is getting a bit out of hand. It’s not journalism, as it’s not very well researched and no balanced view on the price being asked. Should come with a health warning or something.

This looks fantastic. I think it's got to a point you'd have to be daft to buy the G90 M5 over this or a top end Taycan. Either pure combustion or pure electric, the PHEVs are just a pointless, overcomplicated middle option

Still as subtle as a brick in your face. Not for me.

Other than a slightly bulky rear end, I think that looks fantastic. 9/10. And it's a saloon, not another bloody SUV - hurrah!
