Regarding the biggest bill, I think I will still never ever get over the £800 oil filter housing gasket for my Gallardo or the £600 exhaust clamp (4 required!)

Simply slide a lever at the rear of the headlight unit and slide the whole assembly out (on rails) as a unit. Replace said bulb easily as there was nothing in the way / obstructing the bulb locations. Slide headlamp unit back into location and re-secure the lever.It literally took less than a minute,From my experience (with the facelift version which wad very similar), it look less than a minute for the first headlight bulb replacement, but more like an hour of lubrication and gentle persuasion for the second replacement once the rust-loc had taken hold after a few years. After that, I decided that the release mechanism was an unlisted service item and lubricated it occasionally and it was then OK until I moved the car on when it was 10 years old.Those same headlights also had an undocumented handy lever on them to switch the headlight from a RHD beam pattern to a LHD one, which was much easier than messing about with bits of tape or those "beam bender" things sold for huge profit on cross channel ferries. I did get some funny looks from other travellers when removing the headlamps to switch the beam pattern over on the docks at Dover though....
