I'm not as wealthy as all you PH types with your 8 car garages. You don't have to be wealthy. Choose wisely now and look after it. NC MX5, R53 MCS, Fiesta ST, E46/ E9x 330i/ 335i/ Z4/ Porsche Boxster etc etc - all budget fun with plenty of spares.

I'm not as wealthy as all you PH types with your 8 car garages. They aren't expensive. Users who want a Ferrari but have the funds for a Jazz just need to cut their cloth and get a grip. There's a classic car for every budget. By 2040 pretty much any pure ICE car will be a classic. And by 2040 a Honda Jazz will be a great fun classic for someone. I have a grip already, thank you.I understand it is unlikely I will ever be able to afford a Ferrari in any possible version of the future. I made my peace with that many years ago.A Jazz might be a great fun classic for someone in 2040, but it won't be for me. If I was older and retiring today, I could take my pick of cheap V8s, roadsters, straight sixes, NA, supercharged etc. But I'm not retiring today, it's more likely to be 20 years. I don't have the space or funds or time to buy one of those cars now and keep it running for two decades. If I was at retirement age today, I would have a great time with fun cars. By the time I retire that might no longer be possible in the way I would like. That is a bit disappointing, but yes I will get over it and cut my cloth accordingly. I'm not saying it's unacceptable or wrong or outrageous or that we should get rid of EVs, just that I will be a bit disappointed by it. I don't think it's unreasonable to say that I'm disappointed by the prospect of not doing something that I'd like to do.Yes, there will be fun EVs that I will enjoy driving (as I already have and do), but I like V8s and straight sixes and superchargers as well. I know, that's life, you can't have everything you want - I can cope with that and will continue to cope with that. But I can still be a bit disappointed

Would be interesting to know what the DVSA have to say about it.(Edit: I'm asking, I don't know. Legally and technically though, I think that if you make a hole in a chassis and that car is inspected then it's quite possible that Q-plate shame would be visited u

A few years ago I saw Porsche 992 racers on 18", which looked ridiculous. So I asked why?Because they drive so much better on 18" sir.OK, I'll have a JAS Tensei NSX on 18" please...
