2001 Subaru Legacy L 스테이션 왜건, 주행거리 143,000마일. AC 사용 시 20분 이상 주행 후 엔진 과열. AC 끄고 저속 주행 시 온도 약간 내려감. 저속(40~50mph 이하) 주행 시 RPM이 2000~2500 이하로 유지되나, 고속도로(50mph 이상) 진입 시 RPM이 정상보다 높음. 타이밍 벨트와 스파크 플러그 교체 시기 불명. 최근 브레이크, 타이어, 촉매변환기 1개 교체.

06 Pontiac G6의 브레이크 페달이 평소보다 무거워짐. 리어 로터와 패드 교체, 컨트롤 암 교체 후 증상 시작. 도시 주행 처음 10~15분은 정상이지만 제동 중 범프를 지나면 ABS가 작동하는 느낌. 핸드브레이크가 쉽게 올라가지만 완만한 경사에서 제동력 거의 없음.

2006 혼다 시빅 하이브리드. 1년 전부터 며칠간 운행하지 않으면 시동 문제 발생 (휴가 복귀 시, 3일 주말 후). 정상적으로는 거의 즉시 시동이 걸리나, 문제 시 스타터가 1-2초 걸린 후 엔진 시동되며 초기에 백파이어처럼 들림. 시간이 지나면서 증상 악화 - 초기에는 수일 필요했으나 현재는 약 12시간 경과 후 발생. 또한 정차 시 (신호 대기 중) 브레이크 페달을 밟고 있을 때 엔진 자동 정지 및 페달 해제 시 자동 재시동되어야 하는데, 현재는 그대로 공회전 유지됨.

2005년형 MK5 VW 골프의 에어컨이 수년간 작동하지 않음. 에어컨 시스템이 압력을 유지할 수 있는지 확인하고 싶음. 에어 컴프레서로 시스템을 가압하여 압력 유지 여부를 테스트할 수 있는지 확인 필요. 장시간 사용하지 않은 경우 다른 점검 사항이 있는지 확인 필요.

Many moons ago I owned a 156 SW V6 that I bought by accident but really should not have sold. 156 V6 It was a car that absolutely adored the noise and looks but that I never really trusted for main family car duties. I need to make some gears/pinions myself. I have access to a high quality 4-axis CNC mill, but not to a lathe. I'd like to cut these gears out of flat stock (facing), rather than round (edgewise) using narrow end mills. Being able to prototype this in plastic sheets is important to me. I've found a bunch of sites that explain hobbing and that have formulas for pitch etc, but no sites that actually generate the splines for the gear teeth to turn into Gcode. Before I sit down with Mathematica and derive it from first principles, does anyone know of a good resource for this?

My other half's car for the last 5 years has been a Mercedes ML350cdi. To it's credit it's was one of the most comfortable cars we've owned. Incredibly practical for a family of five but it was becoming costly. Last year we spent £1k on incidental repairs not including servicing etc. This year the A/C pump packed up but it also developed a timing chain rattle on cold. Frustrating as it only had 104k on it, full service history too but a timing chain replacement was an engine out job, £4k+ and even a local specialist wouldn't do the job.
