While idling I noticed the temp gauge showing a high reading. I immediately turned off the A.C and rolled down my windows. (It is now called a 455 air conditioner. Four windows down at 55 m.p.h. My coolant level is fine. I thinking maybe a cooling fan is malfunctioning or a sensor. What do you think ? Thanks.

Most cars these days have a cooling fan that only runs when needed.The advantages in fuel economy ,warmup time ,pollution,HP are well documented elsewhere.The popular methods are the electric fan and the viscous coupled fan.The basic idea is that the fan runs when the engine is hot and does not when the engine is cold .If the car is running at speed the airflow through the radiator grill increases .At a certain road speed the flow may be enough to cool the engine anyway .What would this speed be ? Would it be worth it to shut down the fan at high road speeds?

My truck has the 6.8l V10 Triton engine in it. When I got it there was a lot of oil in the cooling system but no water in the oil. It ran hot once but didn't do it again. Would it be the head gasket and how should I clean the cooling system out to get all the oil out of it?

Seems everything uses Torque to Yield bolts and seems thats when alot of head gasket issues started. What have they really done for us, I remember building a 350 Chevy for my camaro and tightening down the head bolts as I seen fit without the aid of a torque wrench let alone the TTY nonsense, (tighten, then back off then tighten 15 degrees but only of there’s a full moon, stand on your head and gargle, retighten bolts ect..) 2012 Malibu, 140k. Started about 1-2 months ago. It cranks but doesn’t start. The lights, radio, etc, come on just fine. I replaced the battery first off. The parts shop said the battery was borderline, it was due, so I replaced it. Still having it. Sometimes it starts and runs fine. Sometimes it cranks but doesn’t start. I drive a 97 Honda Accord and just recently started experiencing an issue where while driving, my ignition suddenly shuts off. Sometimes when this happens I’m able to turn the key and get the ignition started right back up while coasting, but usually forces me to coast to the side of the road instead to throw it in park and restart ignition (instantly, no sputtering). I have a 2003 Chrysler GT, PT Cruiser with less then 60000 miles. It is a four cylinder 2.4L, that is turbo charged, and is automatic. I had a hole in the over flow tank and had it replaced with a new one. When I got it back from my mechanic it seemed ok. We have a Honda Civic Hybrid with 204,000 miles on it. It’s my wife’s car and she commutes fifty miles every day in it. Late last week her IMA (hybrid battery) light came on. Hey! The key to my 2006 Ford Mondeo wont open the hood for some reason… This is particularly bad due to the battery being dead after not being used for a few months. Anyone have any tips to fix this problem? Working on an overheating issue on my 2008 Mustang GT. Car starts normally after sitting all night and fan starts up when I click on the AC. Let the car run (or drive it in traffic) and as soon as the needle gets to normal the fan shuts down. this of course causes the radiator to start heating up shutting down my AC before going in the RED. My 2007 Toyota Camry has a 2.4l engine 4 cylinders and it’s at about 197,000 miles. I’ve been going crazy trying to figure out while the engine is vibrating horribly when at a red light and it’s a lot worse with the ac on. If I open the driver side door on my F-150 while the motor is running the transmission locks in gear and will not let me put it onto park which would allow me to crank it. I can disconnect the battery cables and it will eventually put itself into park and I can crank it. This has been going on for several months. When it first started it would reset in 30 mins or so but now is taking overnight. I’ve not tried it to see if this happens with any other doors bc I don’t want to intentionally make it happen. Hi, I have a 2010 Mazda 6 car. I received a letter for airbag recall. When I dropped my car for service they said it would 1 hr to fix the airbag. Later they called me and said the parts are not available and it would take another 1 month for the parts to arrive. The provided me with an alternative car. They parked my car in an open parking space. When I called after 1 month, they said its an early stage for the recall. They are not sure when the parts will come. I have a car with top end noise. Cam in block, pushrod, ohv rocker arm design. Not a tap but more like a light rattle. I removed the hyd lifters and noticed I could push plunger down with my finger and oil squirted out side oil port on 2 of the lifters. The other lifters were pumped up and I could not compress plungers. Car was run yesterday so it had not been sitting days/weeks. Is this typical lifter action or does this point to the 2 lifters having issues?

At various time the car won’t start. You can hear the starter gear engage but almost instantly disengage. Starter and battery have been replace along with tipem board. The car has been towed 6 times because it won’t start for my wife only to start upon arrival at the repair shop. If you put the ignition in the start position and place the transmission in reverse or neutral, then turn the ignition off and then put the transmission back in park it will start up.
