I had to leave one of the "classic cars spotted" groups on FB (though not the one with that actual name) because people would trot out the MR2 line every single time there was a Ferrari posted, as if it's the funniest line in the history of the world. And, as is common in FB groups, a day or two after the first comedian had blessed us with their wit, someone else would say exactly the same thing because they haven't read the previous comments.

He had a car behind hm, so I was committed and had to boot it to get ahead in time. My wife had to physically hold me back from getting out and having a word as we stopped at the roundabout 1/2 mile down the road. What the actual fk goes through someone's mind to do that? What goes through their mind? Just inferiority and a need to prove themselves. The type of people who have never owned a fast car before and feel the need to show everyone....in a KIA. I recall following a Tesla that was driving at least 10mph under the 50mph limit so I pulled out to overtake. I get alongside the car and he deliberately guns it, probably hit 60-70 before he sees a red traffic light and has to brake hard. I pull up to his right and look across. Bloke looks at me and is all hands, mouthing sorry. Absolute bell end. I pulled away and he went back to driving 40 in a 50. There's a guy locally with a black electric Kia 4x4 thing who I've already commented on in this thread, every time I see him he's absolutely gunning it, tailgating and overtaking in built up areas and generally driving like a prick.I couldn't believe my luck one day when I saw him rapidly approaching the back end of my car on the local bypass, I was the knob that day as I may have kicked down a gear or two and shown him that an ancient supercharged v8 was more than a match for his overpowered milk float. Childish, I know. PH awards you a Get Out of Knob Jail Pass. You are free to go with no judgment other than respect.

Because aerodynamic drag increases with the square of the speed, overcoming it draws a lot of sustained current, thereby generating a lot of heat in the battery and related components, hence the need to limit top speed in EVs to protect them and also preserve the vehicle's range.
Terminator X said: You know what he means, EV is cheap power Vs a similar power ICE. The EV is probably half the price. You will have people in 600hp EVs that would never have got there in a petrol car. Plus also you have people now getting into 600hp cars at a young age Vs the ICE route was always start off with a 90hp Polo or whatever and it might take you 20 years before you got that M5. Plenty of time to get used to the power gradually. TX. TX, when will you accept that EVs are the future of the car? It’s completely and utterly pointless pushing back against the inevitable progress? I’ve always thought these were a smart looking car. Seems like a bit of fun to be had as well. Charging not the best but I’d take a look if I wasn’t sticking to ICE for the foreseeable future.

I guess it’s a sign of the times but nearly £10k for a 11 year old Clio feels punchy. I was interested in one back 9/10 years ago and they were the same price then. I’d have the Fiesta now though, nice aftermarket options too on that.
