I guess it’s a sign of the times but nearly £10k for a 11 year old Clio feels punchy. I was interested in one back 9/10 years ago and they were the same price then. I’d have the Fiesta now though, nice aftermarket options too on that.

I do wonder though, that with EVs not quite hitting the mark with hot hatches that people are hanging onto or seeing more value in the older stuff. I think for RenaultSport models, with the transition to Alpine and then everything sporty becoming EV, perhaps it's become a bit more special now it's a brand that no longer exists. The first 2000-2018ish were a bit of a golden era for RenaultSport. cerb4.5lee said: I never understood the 2 pedal only thing with this generation of Clio either at the time. It was an odd choice for us lot. Apparently at the time the UK was one of RenaultSports biggest markets but apparently on the continent the Clio 200 DCT sold more than previous models. Still a shame we didn't get a manual. Out of these two, I'd be hard pushed to pick a favourite. Longer term RS owner here would mean I'd lean toward the Clio and I think it looks really good, but the notion of a traditional manual hot hatch and knowing the reputation the ST has I'd be torn.

I had to leave one of the "classic cars spotted" groups on FB (though not the one with that actual name) because people would trot out the MR2 line every single time there was a Ferrari posted, as if it's the funniest line in the history of the world. And, as is common in FB groups, a day or two after the first comedian had blessed us with their wit, someone else would say exactly the same thing because they haven't read the previous comments.
