증상
VW Golf MK4 BCB 엔진에 배기 프론트 파이프(1J0254300P)와 촉매변환기를 교체한 후, 1800-1900 rpm 구간에서 진동이 발생. 전반적으로 진동이 증가했으며, 특히 2단 기어에서 가파른 내리막길을 엔진 브레이킹으로 내려갈 때(RPM이 2000에서 1700으로 서서히 감소) 가장 심함. 디스플레이에 '0 l/100km'이 표시되어 ECU가 연료를 공급하지 않음을 확인했으므로 점화계통 문제는 아님.
처리 내용
BM-Catalysts 제품의 불량과 부정확한 적합성이 문제였음. 프론트 파이프와 촉매변환기를 VW 정품 부품으로 교체한 후 모든 증상이 해결됨. 정품과 BM-Catalysts 부품을 비교했을 때 작업 품질의 차이가 매우 큼. BM-Catalysts는 초저가 제품을 만들기 위해 많은 부분에서 단축 공사를 한 것으로 보임. 가격에 맞는 품질의 문제였음.

16v was a real performance car. I don’t know how they sold so many 8v cars, when back in the mid 80’s you could get a Fiat Strada 130 TC Abarth or Lancia Delta 1.6 HF Turbo for similar money.
