Nowadays you can't go more than 5 minutes on a busy road without seeing a fast German hatchback, and they will almost certainly last longer (without needing expensive restoration work).I get what you are saying, but I disagree. And for the record, I'm not a fan of either fast Fords or fast German hatchbacks, but I respect their respective abilities. An M140i is the modern equivalent to a fast Ford as it is accessible performance for the masses. It is now going the 'bad image' phase or being seen as a bit working class and looked down on, just like Fords and Vauxhalls, but one day they will be rare and sought after, as there won't be many good ones left.Can't see an M140i personally, there are loads of 1 series around and the 130/135/140 all look much the same IMO. It just doesn't seem like the kind of car that you'd be putting up on your wall, or something you might see as a cool detective's runaround on the TV.My suggestions to be similarly rubbished would be the Audi S1 and the Ford Mustang, both of which are rare enough that you don't see too many, but also pretty cool and distinctive cars in their own way.
