I sold an diesel Audi A4 some time ago had it twelve tears it covered 585,000 miles from new. 300,000 in the first five years and then 250,000 in the next seven. Brilliant car with all original equipment working bodywork fine still running happily it had five cambelts changed always looked after by the same mechanic. We used it in several delivery businesses and the like.Still on the original engine it did have a new flywheel and clutch after the original fell apart. Modern cars will cover very high mileages if they are serviced regularly. In fact it is still going today I sold it to a neighbour.Overheating is the no no with modern engines. Alloy heads and heat are a bad mix. Otherwise I have had several Volvos exceed 300,000 miles happily. Down to the driving style really and the sheer depth of quality in these cars. They fade away more than wear out.
