My last car (Range Rover) got ONE update in 4 years of ownership, and that was a bug fix. These updates keep the car fresh and about as future proof as you can get.You say that as if it's a good thing! I actually do see it as a good thing. Tesla's OTA updates haven't just been bug fixes, they've added genuinely useful features over the years. Owners have received things like Sentry Mode, Dashcam, Dog Mode, Camp Mode, Blind Spot Camera views, improveme

I grew up experiencing a lot of top spec Ford's for example(Granada 2.8i Ghia X Executive/Scorpios/Jags etc.) So I loved all the spec and the opulence of them if you know what I mean, so being in a Tesla Model 3 for me is like the equivalent of sitting in an empty cardboard box in comparison, and I just don't like the minimalist approach at all, versus something a bit more fancy. Plus the interior of a car is the first thing I criticise with a car as well. Our 2024 X5 40d is a £100k car with the options it has on it for example, yet for me there isn't any wow factor about sitting in it though, because there's just the idrive 8 curved screen and a bit of leather, so it just feels plain and cheap to me inside, but that is just the way that modern cars are going though sadly in my view. Yeah, it's fashion, isn't it? That and cars getting so many features that putting everything on a switch or button just gets unrealistic, and once you've decided that it needs a screen, you may as well delete the existing buttons for stuff that doesn't really need them. Also, suddenly it's a lot cheaper to add even more features, because if it's something electronic you can configure, you can make it user-controlled just through software, it doesn't need a switch and wiring and somewhere to put it. My Lotus has 3 rotary knobs for the heating and ventilation, three buttons for the lights, a hazard switch, a central locking button, and a little dimple on the steering column to reset the trip, but it doesn't have anything else to control! Your Caterham must be similar. Once you start getting to this point (and it's still got some blanks!) I think it's getting out of control:I think the worst designs are the ones with a cluttered interior and then a screen added in as an afterthought, though. Really I want an uncluttered dash, with a few essential functions on
