It should be just 70% or so, allowing manufacturers to produce vehicles in enough numbers to be viable to cater for things like caravan/boat towers and sports cars. Surely if 70% of vehicles are EV thats enough to save the world? Or does the extra 30% mean we ll all be underwater by 2050?By the time Johnny Boat-Tower needs to get a new EV, there will be EVs out there that will do the job he needs. Aaaaages yet.As for sportscars, new EV sportscars will be available. And old ICE sportscars will be available

Surely if 70% of vehicles are EV thats enough to save the world? Or does the extra 30% mean we ll all be underwater by 2050?Maybe. Is it worth the risk? What would be the point of allowing 30% of cars to be ICE? For what benefit? And is that benefit big enough to outweigh the contribution it would make to slowing the electrification of the country and attaining energy security? Why 30% anyway? What's your working on that, based on the benefits you believe it would bring, and which would outweigh the risk downside? That s a lot of questions. The 30% I just plucked from the air, could be 20, even 10. In fact I believe the eu has already rolled back to allow 10% not full EV.The benefit is we may get to have some exciting, lightweight sports car to enjoy into the future and not rely on increasingly aging classics. I think we already know there is little demand for EV sports cars. But if you aren t interested in cars and see a car as a to b, that goes right over your head I guess. But I don t believe if 70 or 80% of new cars are EV from 2035 onwards it will tip the world into crisis because it s not 100%. And no, I don t have a spreadsheet of projected climate data to back it up, but most of that kind of data over the last 30 years hasn t come true, sea levels, Maldives gone etc. I think we d be ok.It is a lot of questions, you seem to have avoided most of them and are leaving it up to "vibes". Nobody is buying lightweight sports cars any more, so that's not really a benefit either.10-20 years from now nobody is going to give a tuppenny toss about ICE cars for road use. Let it go.Eh? I answered most of your questions. Apart from the ‘slowing of electrification of the country’ one. Which is nonsense because if 70-80% were
