Agreed, as it was based on a quirky design albeit a good one. Also agree that there is a steady market for small so called premium cars as exemplified by BMC Vanden Plas 1300s, Peugeot 206 Roland Garros; even the Ford Ghia trim level, Citroen DS as a marque, Infiniti,
I get that everyone on here doesn't like the Cygnet, mainly because they think "an Aston needs to have a long bonnet and a big engine" etc..Although some are the same people who told us until blue in the face that when Aston launched the DB12, the V8 provided was 'disappointing because "an Aston should have a V12" , as if the whole of Aston's history is encompassed by the vantage version of DB7 and the DB9. My badly made point is that Aston is a rich brand full of stories. You and everyone else may not like this one, but there were a handful of buyers who decided they wanted to support Aston in this way and were actually enthused by the little car with the luxury interior. And I myself seethe with frustration at the notion that we are in a world where nearly ever new car buyer is buying something that should be a hatchback, but instead is clad in more metal and "bodywork", with a slightly jacked up position, to make the car look wider, taller and more rugged. In the meantime our roads are more congested, our town centre roads don't have any new kerbs to park alongside, and the planet etc...So I long for a day when small petrol hatchback cars like this are actually acknowledged as enlightened. Audi will no doubt cut the A1 soon, the Polo will eventually be electric only, and we saw the Fiesta disappear as everyone is buying Puma SUVs don't you know. So forgive me if I celebrate this eccentric example in a segment which I think should be increasing in offering, not dying out.

Ouch! That must be a killer for EVs.It’s about 115 EUR per month to tax this; although point of reference the cheapest monthly road tax (excluding exempt classics) for something like a VW UP is 52 EUR a month. I happened to look at M5s a year ago (G-gen) and those will set you back just over 2400 a year in tax. We do have impeccable roads though so swings and roundabouts.

Crazy and brilliant in equally biblical measures.

This looks fantastic. I think it's got to a point you'd have to be daft to buy the G90 M5 over this or a top end Taycan. Either pure combustion or pure electric, the PHEVs are just a pointless, overcomplicated middle option

Other than a slightly bulky rear end, I think that looks fantastic. 9/10. And it's a saloon, not another bloody SUV - hurrah!
