£75k for a middle of the road rep mobile. I wonder why the European based car manufacturers are struggling.

Folk ultimately won't bother spending the extra on a Merc/BMW or Audi for example, and they'll just go with Jaecoo or BYD etc as you allude to. Premium(or so called premium) doesn't mean the same as it once did, especially now that most car manufacturers are all on the same level playing field with electric. There's nothing to make a car stand out versus it's rivals like there was in the old days with ICE for example to me. All the interiors/exteriors are roughly the same, and all the batteries etc are the same too. It's quite grim really when you think about it. It is the opposite of grim if you think about it. 40 years ago we were stuck with Vauxhaul/ Ford etc unless you had the wonga for a BMW/ Mercedes. Then PCP put us all in 320D and the like.Now, as you say, you can get the performance and spec of a premium car for much cheaper, unless a badge means something to you. Fantastic news. Sucks to be a German autoworker- I see VAG have done the maths. Maybe they shouldn’t go on the sick so often
