I turned down several f355's over the years for the 30k mark *. This makes me sad. couldn't afford at the time.

The RS Spyder hasn t caught the imagination like the 4RS has for some reason. I think they re amazing.Because they're pretty impractical, and I'd guess the majority of individuals who want a mid engined RS Porsche, may want to track it occasionally, and if you've got any sense, you'd want to do so with a real roof over your head. But I suspect that just as several individuals on the recent Porsche forum thread "I've finally found my ideal driver's car" have stated, the real joy of driving a Porsche on the road, is being able to use more of the available performance, more of the time, and for the majority, that means a 500hp @ 8500rpm redline powerplant is all but pointless. The only real opportunity to use that performance in a meaningful manner is on track. On the road, driving such a car is is an exercise in futility and frustration 90% of the time.A case of the old adage "There's more fun to be had driving a slow car fast, than a fast car slow" and all that, being closer to the truth than most would care to admit.Ultimately though, I guess it depends on your motive for buying such cars. If you want to make lots of noise and impress others on the road/at Cars and Coffee meets or on Instagram, the Spyder RS makes perfect sense. Otherwise a 718 Boxster Spyder with 400 and a bit horsepower makes far more sense, albeit it provides less bragging rights at C'nC events and on forums such as these.I've posted these sage words before, regrettably I can't take credit for them, they're those of a fellow PH'er :"To me, as an averagely talented road car driver it's that very 'an

A few years ago I saw Porsche 992 racers on 18", which looked ridiculous. So I asked why?Because they drive so much better on 18" sir.OK, I'll have a JAS Tensei NSX on 18" please...

Evo also seem to have their figures muddled up too - the average RR isn't £200k and in the latest magazine they say the Type 01 starts at under £100k and average £125k plus the weight is wrong. Not sure what's happened with their research.
