Any attempt to then low ball you by the insurer would be met with short thrift by the consumer , the industry and indeed the regulator. In theory of course because I ve never been in that position. But does it do "what it says on the tin" ?Hopefully a few will come on and say, yes my car had an agreed of X and they paid me X, with no battle involved.Hence my last line. I totally take your point but even then would you be happy as not every Insurer behaves the same !I have an agreed value policy for my “ personal fleet “ policy with Chubb. Thankfully I’ve never had to find out but in it it also includes a contingency amount should the agreed value prove for whatever reason to be insufficient of +50%. My premium is not insignificant but I have no doubt that should the worse happen I would not be mucked around.
