Had a look round a Hyundai Ioniq 5 yesterday as a friend has one on trial, went for a drive in it and just couldn;t get to grips with the side mirror set up...I know the idea is to give a wider angle view but is this making drivers more reliant upon technology?
LuS1fer said: Probable cost to the manufacturer though that was a slight exaggeration...For very basic setups, certainly, but modern door mirrors with all the adjustment motors, heating elements, etc. are considerably more expensive to produce than the relatively low quality cameras and screens required. The actual manufacturing cost of a complete, sealed camera pod will be... maybe £15. A non-IP rated interior screen of acceptable quality will be about £10. A modern mirror pod with all the electrics will at at last £50 to make, probably more like £100. Of course those numbers don't stop manufacturers charging £500 for the mirror and £1000 for the camera setup!Edited by kambites on Sunday 16th August 15:49

At some point I will replace it with a cheap EV.Some are saying that increasing costs, i.e ved and fuel costs, and maybe new rules on ulez, will in effect force ice drivers to make the change over to EV, not sure this is true, or when in the future.

Plenty of car thefts, in the Midlands typically Landrover and German performance stuff. Are electric cars being stolen or just ICE?

A few years ago I saw Porsche 992 racers on 18", which looked ridiculous. So I asked why?Because they drive so much better on 18" sir.OK, I'll have a JAS Tensei NSX on 18" please...
