Terminator X said: I guess you'll find out soon enough as the French are taxing weight. Other countries will follow says my crystal ball.TX.Less tax on heavier EVs apparently.
BricktopST205 said: You seem hell bent on making this about EV's. I am making my point about heavy cars being dangerous in general and OEM's should do more to make them lighter. My posts are here to be seen. Go back and read them. OEM's would have never improved emissions standards until Euro Emission standards were introduced back in the 90's. OEM's would have never made EV's unless the mandate was brought in and shock horror if governments brought in weight standards for cars. Watch those kerb weights come tumbling down. BMW managed it years ago with i3. I am sure OEM's would find a way. They have adapted before and will adapt again. Otherwise they will just go out of business. Given that we are talking about new cars and 'the future', the discussion is essentially about EVs. It's also a thread about an EV, and given the only threads on which you come to express your distaste and dismay are EV threads, I'd say I'm pretty safe in assuming this is all about EV.EVs exist because science and engineering tell us they are the future, mandates are necessity because of human nature; ignorance, fear of change, fear of the unknown. As for BMW, they have openly stated that the i3 is not a mass-manufacturable technology that can scale from the 250,000 cars they produced over about 9 years. It won't be the long before 100 million new cars are being produced each year, 20 or 30 thousand cars wouldn't even scratch the surface.I really don't know what more can be said.EVs are here to stay, their very low lifetime carbon footprint trajectory is world's apart from anything other technology.Their lifetime energy consumption is a fraction of any other technology. The can be both manufactured and operated throughout their entire life from almost entirely renewable energy and near 100% recycled at end of life. There are almost no harmful emissions that increase with the speed of travel. These are the first principles that matter, the rest of it just fades into obscurity. The fact that all

There doesn't seem to be anything else in the pipeline ( or maybe they've discovered a previously unknown ability to keep these things under wraps ). Not sure how dealers will survive trying to sell these new £130k behemoths alongside a few second hand XE models for £10k. Not even sure how the small levels of sales can support the whole management structure a car company needs, even if it does share a lot of stuff with Land Rover.

Apart from the badge there is no distinction between this and a BYD to my old eyes.Imagine aspiring to something like this and then folk repeatedly assume it's a Chinese knock off.Ironically the Chinese knock off will come with most of the options included for half the price!Mugs.
Possibly a strange topic for some, but I’ve always had a fascination with headlamp washers, and in particular systems that involve wipers. I’ve had a couple, namely a Saab 900 and an E30 BMW. Some other manufacturers like Volvo and Mercedes were well known for them tooHowever, this evening I randomly found the following image of a Talbot Solaro, and it got me thinking about what other cars are there where headlight wipers were availableA few others that spring to mind:Any other obscure ones?

A few years ago I saw Porsche 992 racers on 18", which looked ridiculous. So I asked why?Because they drive so much better on 18" sir.OK, I'll have a JAS Tensei NSX on 18" please...
