If you're not interested in an engaging or sporty drive (and you don't want an EV) then I don't think you can do better as a mode of transport. Bulletproof reliability, very efficient, extremely smooth drivetrain, the best ride quality I've experienced in a 'normal' car, practical in tourer form, it's even quite good looking (subjective). I completely understand why they've sold so many and it's become the default choice for taxi drivers the world over.
