The 40mph club. I've met them, indeed, in my early days of employment; I used to get a lift to work with one. He described anyone going faster out of town as a 'mad motorway driver'.

If someone is flashing me, apparently wanting me to either (1) emerge from a side road, or (2) cross in front of them into a side road, then I apply a different analysis: "Can I still get across if they press the gas?" If the result would be merely inconvenience to them, then I go. If the result could be danger (for me) then I wait.Why the quotes round good manners? Don't you recognise them as such?Have you often found yourself in a "flash for cash" scenario?
