Are we talking in road car format or comp form?In road form the RS200 (with optional engine power kit fitted) was pretty special and as good as both, if not better than both. Chassis was superb, suspension like no other road car I've ever experienced back in the late 80's, brakes were on another level as well.Its only real major fault was the clutch.In comp form, neither the Audi or the Lancia was up there with the 205T16, especially in E2 form.Had Grp B not been banned, I think the RS200E would have given the 205T16E2 a good challenge in '87, although PTS had the stronger driver line-up. The Lancia was a pig, and only Henri could really half tame it, and he perished trying to. The Audi was already outclassed by 86.In the ERC after Grp B was banned, despite some good wins for Schanche in his RS200E, the 205T16E2 reigned supreme for the 87,88,89 & 90 seasons, until Alamaki retired after 3 championship wins on the trot, allowing Schanche to finally win the ERC in 91.
