I was driving home Northbound on the M3 after 10pm on Saturday night and passed loads of MLMs doing about 60mph. At least there was an empty lane either side of them!

I'm not sure I know anyone that thinks the motorway is part of any holiday, save the Autobahn for a few on here. People are generally keen to get to the place they've booked to be at ;-)If you're in France, want to enjoy the journey and see the countryside and villages, you take the D roads and dawdle at 40mph there. The motorway is expensive and generally used by people wanting to do long distances quickly. Except... it's not, is it? Hence these people driving slowly.Doing the motorway at 50 or 60 is probably still quicker than doing the scenic route. Not sure why slow people in lane 1 is a problem for everyone? I barely even notice them, because there are two other lanes for me to drive at the speed I want to. Expecially in Europe where there's so little traffic in comparison to the UK.If you hold up people on a French autoroute you should expect to have a very stressful journey with everything from 1" tailgating to light flashing and punishment passes. I drive in France a lot and the kind of brain dead or obstructive driving you see in the UK all the time is rare over there and that's on two lane roads.Who are you holding up if you're sat in lane 1?Try Italy, it's even more fun. 0.5" tailgating from a beaten up 1990's Fiat when you dare to not go faster stuck in a queue of traffic at 50mph. The first rule of driving in Sicily is "don't hit anyone". There are no other rules. It's actually quite liberating and works pretty well (although 99% of cars have considerable dents and scrapes) in that you don't have people constantly worrying about what they "should" do in every situation, they just use common sense (sometimes) and do what they want.

A few years ago I saw Porsche 992 racers on 18", which looked ridiculous. So I asked why?Because they drive so much better on 18" sir.OK, I'll have a JAS Tensei NSX on 18" please...
