My 2019 RF was bought two years ago. It has had both window regulators replaced as the cables fray and jam. Mazda servicing costs are way too expensive so it will be indy in future.I was going to sell mine last night when I found that a car sales site valued it at 2k more than I paid for it but after about an hour looking at what is available for the same price, I realised why I have lost interest in modern cars. Not that some are not interesting but wow, they are all so expensive.Anyway, my findings about the MX5 is they are good fun but impractical and the one thing that has always irked me is the engine noise on start up. It is clattery and painful to the ears. 5w30 improves it slightly but it is not a sports car noise. When I owned Corvettes, Camaros and with my Mustang, the V8 is a primer for enjoyment, without moving an inch. The MX does quieten when warm but it is really not a sports car sound. My old Fiesta ST sounded way better.From that point of view, an electric MX5 has less to battle against. You can buy louder exhausts, I know, but it never gets rid of the direct injection clatter.Edited by LuS1fer on Thursday 27th August 12:30

The dangers of browsing Marketplace....I noticed this for sale a few weeks ago, thought it looked nice, near to us, saved the ad as I do with many nice looking cars.A couple of weeks later I looked at it again in more detail. Mrs P and I have occasionally talked about getting a small sports car for fun but never done anything about it, but then using my 'man reasoning' for yet another car I suggested we go and look at it, the selling point being it was a 25th Anniversary model and earlier this year we celebrated our 25th anniversary, so it would be 'a great appropriate present to buy ourselv

I wonder what the future holds, the next generation one surely won’t be NA, under 1000kg and starting at under £30k. Seems a total bargain currently!
