They were the generation that spend their childhood associating two seater sports cars with freedom and social standing so drive the huge sports car resurgence from the 90s when they began retiring, clearing mortgages and children and inheriting. And the third impact on the wider public has been the seismic increase in the number of more exciting things to spend the money on such as renting a disposable kitchen, fly fishing in Magaluf, having one's arse fat injected in one's face and renting the privilege of advertising a brand on a £1 item of clothing. Even entertainment has changed from blowing a 10p whistle in a field while drinking a 50p can to giving £300 to some dancing bellend while renting a bell tent for £500. Plus rents and mortgages going through the roof and consuming vast percentages of people's incomes that are left after crippling taxes to pay for people who had a lifetime to put money aside to cover their own bills along with folks for whom an emotional support emu isn't enough to cope with turning up to work. The next generation don't want sports cars, have more fun things to piss away their money on, can't afford sports cars and don't have a garage to keep them in. That basically leaves weirdo car lovers and dodgy door to door grifters with their need for a Porsche to sustain the market. Look on the bright side, the price of E Types et al are plummeting b
