Often threads situated in narrow, manufacturer-specific categories will focus on topics such as, "Does anyone know where I can get a replacement fan belt for my 1995 XYZ?"I do not criticise the participants in such threads, and indeed the day could come when I myself were in need of a fan belt for a 1995 McLaren F1, in which case one might find me here on PH asking for a recommendation. Nonetheless, the profusion of that sort of narrow, manufacturer-specific thread tends, I think, to discourage many of us from having a curious look inside manufacturer-specific categories on a forum. Often we don't know beforehand what we might find interesting, so we don't seek it out. If, back in 2004, Pistonheads had had a "McLaren" section, I speculate that Ted still would have included the first "Flemke" thread not in that but here in General Gassing. The decision is of course up to the moderators, but I think this thread is best placed where it has always been.
