I think Singers are increasingly optimised to look good in promo images above all else. It's probably what sells the car, ultimately. It's not like these two chintzy lashups are going to get driven.Not to say the engineering and build quality isn't there. I'm sure that remains and many underestimate the cost of doing that when they decry the price of a Singer versus something like a Paul Stephens shed. But I think there was evidence the focus and customer base was drifting into a certain kind of ultra luxury territory even before these LVMH mash ups were revealed. It's increasingly becoming less about that particular drive to perfect the air cooled 911 and ever more about conspicuous consumption, image and signalling.
