vikingaero said: You're applying your blanket logic to everyone - not everyone has a drive to charge on. Does Joe Public need a car? According to you, no. But Joe could work at a power station tens of miles from the nearest bus stop, and if he doesn't arrive for work you won't have the power for your EV. There are so many variations and permutations.Over time access to a way to charge an EV will change. When the ICE engine was invented there wasn’t a petrol station every couple of miles. It took time to develop. The cost to do so will change too, I’d expect home charging to become more expens

I look forward to charging at your public chargers for cheaper than everyone else. I still don't see the cost of public charging going down any time soon and suspect the gap between home charging and public charging to keep increasing. EV's have been around for over a decade (commonplace) and yet public charging has been getting more and more expensive in the last 10 years despite increasing renewables, battery storage etc. I’ve little desire to start working again thanks. I also said very explicitly that there are numerous other ways in which this new industry could be exploited and I don’t have the mental acuity to work it all out. You’re probably right that you don’t see it dropping soon, but isn’t that the whole point? This isn’t a short term plan, it’s a long term plan. If you just want immediate actions that give immediate perfect results 100% of the time then you’re part of the problem. There will be many attempts at this, some will succeed, many will fail, but those that do succeed will make the landscape of EV charging very different to what we see today. I look at the petrol stations in the country I’m in currently and they’re massively ahead of the U.K. and this is a fairly backwards thinking country. The charging network is in its infancy, but the petrol stations are all loaded up with dozens of panels on their canopy rooves already. They’re creating enough electricity currently to make their own electricity bills €0 and selling huge amounts back into the network. When they install their chargers they’re effectively self sufficient with no need to buy the power in to their own chargers. Their fee will be a fraction of what you pay commercially in the U.K. as a result. Even without this they’re getting a good return on their investment already / piling up the cash to install their chargers. This is just one simple aspect. There

A few years ago I saw Porsche 992 racers on 18", which looked ridiculous. So I asked why?Because they drive so much better on 18" sir.OK, I'll have a JAS Tensei NSX on 18" please...
