Had the privilege of using a saloon version in near identical spec for a few weeks back in the early 2000s.Lovely, revvy, silky smooth engine, and a generally nice car to drive. The only negative I remember is the fuel economy vs the performance. I don't think I bettered 28 mpg. The 330i used no more fuel, and was a lot quicker.That was a bugbear that I had with my E90 330i auto to be fair. The 26mpg that it returned in my usage didn't match up to the performance that was on offer for me. I think the manual version would be far better on fuel though.

I wanted to keep things looking as OEM as possible.
