I felt same I used an E46 and an E92 as a daily back when they were new .. and for me, they never felt that special then- the E92 only came alive at the top end and by that point you were doing well over the speed limit. On track too heavy and underbraked (like most road cars to be fair).I came into M cars from non M cars and when you were sat in traffic/commuting they frankly both felt the same but were using a st ton more fuel.Now, with rose tinted glasses on, it s a little different I suspect cars like this are used on a few weekends and you can drive them with nostalgia for the good old days of the cars and life in early 2000s which I guess for some makes them more special now .. I ve even looked at them again myself in the classifieds. Time has made the design look even better compared to today s big fat messy designs and their weight makes them look positively anorexic compared to today!Past loves hey! I enjoy mine even just for the sound. Now it’s old I’m not losing in depreciation so I don’t mind a bit more on fuel. An E46 or E9X is far better then the models after.
