증상

If everyone drove something smaller and lighter, we would not need mobile barns and we would all have more space.Being 67, when I was a lad, cars pretty much folded up when new, let alone when they became 40% rust and filler.However, Mustang aside, itself not a big car these days, I have two Panda 169s and a flimsy MX5 RF which I drive with alacrity and I am not the cotton wool wrapping type because heavy is usually boring.

Currently have a Fabia and even something the size of a Golf feels too much for my needs but then I have always been a fan of small cars.Second part: It's nuanced. Having kids changes the optics of the argument as your role as a responsible parent and to do everything you can to protect them is a big driver. I don't have any so don't know how big a driver for a bigger car is. For me I just refuse to join in the arms race as it means that cars will only ever get bigger and bigger does not always equal safer. The overriding issue for me though is how would I feel having a big SUV, getting involved in a head-on collision with a small car and surviving relatively unscathed but the small car being obliterated and all the occupants not making it out alive? As I drive a 26t HGV for a living I know that at the extremes it's a valid worry as if I hit anything bar another truck in it then I will probably walk away with whatever I hit being unrecognisable. For me personally I wouldn't get any car larger than I reasonably need and certainly not a SUV or 4x4 for their perceived safety benefit. The "I'm all right Jack" mentality doesn't sit right with me. But I also understand that when you have kids, especially new ones, then the priority is not about what I want it need but what is in their best interests.
