I ve been with Aviva for 10 years and always check the renewal against comparison sites. Most years the renewal rate is cheaper, last year it was £20 more than the cheapest on the comparison site so I stuck.I'm on my 4th year with Sheila's Wheels as at every renewal they have been cheaper than the last year and significantly lower than elsewhere. It's got to the point now where my renewal a few days ago is actually the cheapest price they can offer on any policy! I phoned up to get European cover for the first few days as I was away in France when the policy rolled over and they told me over the phone that they haven't seen a minimum price policy for a while but they do happen. Must be a combination of low risk car of minimal value, a low risk job and a very clean record. Just a no fault claim 3 years ago which didn't affect prices at all. My caravan insurance is the same, minimum price of £74. Would love to know what actually is the trigger for such low prices as I'm thinking of changing car soon and insurance quotes for lots of stuff is 5x my current price of £130.
