Reading this thread, obviously feel for the owner, however what shocked me most was the £300 p/h and £250 p/h labour rates at porsche and LR dealers. Good god.How can they charge such rates ? Ridiculous.

It was interesting that Kia, with the higher performance (and thus more stressed) Stinger specified 6-month service intervals [IIRC], in order to maintain their warranty which, of course, was longer than most.For a vehicle out of warranty, not bought within the franchised network, they were under no legal obligation, so court proceedings wouldn't be black & white 'easy'.For £2,500 you'll have a new engine, just check oil levels regularly and change the oil more frequently than 'recommended'. The UK often customer gets taken for a ride, ie MB extend warranties on problem parts in the US, not the UK. Others, such as BMW, often have shorter oil change intervals in the US. There's a reason these companies do this, and it isn't because it's out of the goodness of their hearts and they feel sorry for the average punter.
