I realised how much I liked the E90 330d even more a few years later as well, because I bought an E90 330i auto. The 330i was ste in comparison for me. It felt slow, and you had to rev the crap out of it to get it to shift, plus it was lousy on fuel too. I know this is PH, but I'd never recommend the 330i over the 330d to be honest now. I did 20k plus miles a year in first a EP3 Type R then a BMW 330i manual. I managed a minimum of 31 mpg in both. Never had an issue with lack of torque. I just didn't want diesel as they sounded crap.I'm starting to sound like BricktopST205 now...Lee, what you like in a daily is basically an EV but with tractor sound. I get you like the range though.That's one of the reasons why I've gelled so much with my M4 as well I think, and that is basically a petrol-diesel really. It's torquey/quick, and it doesn't hammer you on fuel if you drive it steady either. The range isn't anywhere near as awful as my V8 M3 was as well.
