Mr Tidy said: I was thinking about this thread a couple of weeks ago when I went to a local car meet and there were 3 Fulvias there. Wishing I had taken some photos now, but I got distracted by an F40, Lamborghini Diablo, TVR Sagaris, 20s Bentleys and E-Types. Understandable: the Fulvia's not really a "wow factor" car, is it? More "if you know, you know".

The close proximity to the Northampton & Lamport Railway was an additional bonus and meant we didn't have to spend the day walking around a field of old cars.Dodging the heatwave by polishing the car in the garage, we packed camping chairs and flapjacks into the surprisingly large boot and headed off up the M1. This marked the first time the car had been on an M-way since we collected it, so I was nervous.I needn't have been. The Fulvia revelled in a good thrash up the motorway and cruised at a comfortable 100-110kph, venturing as far as lane 3 on occasion. Only as we traversed Northampton town centre did the temperature gauge show any inclination towards the hot end but once free of the seemingly incessant traffic lights it all cooled down again. We parked up and headed for the railway, which was slightly underwhelming due to repair works necessitating a shortened route. Nevertheless, it was a fun diversion. We spent the rest of the day ogling Stratoses, a Flaminia Convertible, loads of other Fulvia Coupés (it's their 60th anniversary this year) and a good turn out of Betas and the inevitable Delta Integrales. Most importantly, we didn't embarrass ourselves with the condition of our car, which was well in line with the majority of what's out there. Of course there were some beauties, but there were many worse than ours. It also appears that the FPS alloys on ours are quite

Congratulations! The wheels are FPS ones I believe. If you get 6 inch cromodoras they could well rub the arch. For a 1.3 the 5.5 inch cromodora wheels fit without problem. If you buy originals bear in mind there is magnesium content so be cautious about getting them refinished. I'm truly 50/50 bumpers on or off! Also, be careful about the small black canister which you top up the oil with. They can get rust particles especially if the car hasn't been used, and they then find their way into the lovely engine......There are many other useful tips on the Lancia Club forum.Edited by Fessia fancier o
