People also tend to need more space the faster they go, hence motorway lanes are particularly wide despite everyone travelling in a straight line at about the same speed. So if they're driving miles from the kerb on a narrow road it's because they're driving too fast for their abilities.But, the speed limit is 30 so they'll carry on assuming that means that whatever they need to do to maintain 30 is fair. Even after they lose a wing mirror.
