What I said in reference to my car dealer friend was:"Somewhere in the region of 75% of his customers (even in this affluent area), couldn't afford to buy the luxury car they are renting outright. He makes a good margin on the finance side."That's no doubt true. But not being able to afford to buy outright does not mean they can't afford the car - affording the payments is still a form of affordability. Most such cars are company purchase/lease and for very good financial and cashflow reasons. You'd have to be window licking stupid to buy the car in most instances - the capital should be at work making more money, not tied up in a depreciating asset. If its a business buying the RR Electric, financing it makes total sense. BIK on a pure EV is 4% this tax year vs 25-37% for petrol, the interest is a deductible expense, and you get VAT relief too. Tying up company cash in something thats depreciating that fast would be daft when the tax system is basically subsidising the loan.Private buyer is the opposite story. Also, others seem to consider someone that leases a car as 'having something they can't afford', but in reality there is normally a so

A few years ago I saw Porsche 992 racers on 18", which looked ridiculous. So I asked why?Because they drive so much better on 18" sir.OK, I'll have a JAS Tensei NSX on 18" please...
