The parts have finally landed from the States, and I really can't complain about the delivery time. From placing the order to them arriving at my door was only three days, which is pretty impressive.I've now got pretty much everything I need to put the engine back together. The only bits I'm waiting on are the final supplies for cleaning the bearings properly and some gasket sealer. Once those arrive, the plan is to do the whole assembly in one hit rather than rushing sections of it.One thing I did decide on was replacing the oil pickup. Although I spent a fair bit of time cleaning the original pickup and its fine gauze, I was still a little concerned about whether I'd managed to remove every last bit of debris. At only £45, it just made sense to fit a brand-new one and have complete peace of mind. Unfortunately, it didn't come with the O-ring, but I'm sure I've got a few genuine spares tucked away somewhere in the garage.It's been a bit of a waiting game, but it finally feels like things are moving in the right direction. Hopefully the next update will be the bottom end fully rebuilt and the Lightning one step closer to being back on the road.
