Always "full tank of fuel", pre-heat to melt the snow off, no engine wear issues with the repeated short run of 2km to the local ski lift all through the winter. Why bother with an ICE car at all, for this?Exactly, if you need to cut costs it's hard to argue against.I seriously doubt he needs to cut costs
American here, I have a '26 Model Y Premium AWD. My thoughts here:- UK cars are hobbled by the lack of FSD, which is really the key differentiating reason to get these cars. Without FSD, it's not really a Tesla. FSD is great, at least here in the US. I am at over 75% FSD.- These cars are transportation appliances. They excel at getting you from here to there with minimal fuss. If that's what you expect, you will be happy. If you are a "passionate driver" and want an "involving experience", you will not like them. Teslas are great for mundane driving tasks.- The Model 3 and Model Y really came into their own with the Highland/Juniper update in '25. There's a reason earlier cars are cheap on the used market: crashy suspension, rattly interiors, panel fitment issues etc. The '25s and later are far better in every way. Wait until some used '25s hit the market or come off of lease.- Do not buy a hardware 3 car. Hardware 4 is far superior and relatively futureproof.- Perhaps controversially, but do not buy a Tesla (or any EV really) unless you can charge it at home or at work. Relying on public charging infrastructure is fine, but deprives you of the main convenience of an EV: fueling it up while it's parked. I know this is a problem for lots of people. Every government should be focused on putting cheap level 2 recepticles everywhere and less on expensive high speed DC charging. Every building has the electricity EVs need, it shouldn't be this hard.- Do not buy a '21 Tesla. They seem to have known battery issues that Tesla does not seem to be acknowledging.- I do not recommend the Model S or Model X, both are overly complex and issue-prone. Neither is as anywhere near as well-made as the Model 3 or Model Y.

A few years ago I saw Porsche 992 racers on 18", which looked ridiculous. So I asked why?Because they drive so much better on 18" sir.OK, I'll have a JAS Tensei NSX on 18" please...
