I do wish they had kept the heated seats and steering wheel buttons though.Anyway, I'm off to join the rest shouting at clouds.The 'Max' setting is also a bit of a psychological thing as it doesn't actually make the air any colder. All it does is run the fans at max and set the target temperature to 16deg. Your initial aircon performance is limited by heat exchanger temperature, and to make effective cold air it takes a while to start chilling down, and as such all you actually do is blow hot air into the cabin which raises the temperature slightly. Generally the calibration of climate control means it waits until it sees vent termperstures lower than ambient before ramping the fan speed up. If you plot cabin temperture over time using the MAX setting vs leaving all the controls alone and having the target temp at 16 whilst letting the calibration do its thing, you'll reach 16deg quicker with the latter.
