The contact owns a 2018 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal whining sound coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with transmission failure. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,500. The VIN was unavailable.

The brakes just stopped working. Got a message on the screen about "Low Braking Power. Stop in a safe place". The engine stopped working and the pedal (brake) was very hard. Thank God I was able to stop and not crash. I checked all car stored codes\errors - no codes and the car running normally now. I know that the 2018 Camry had recall about the brake vacuum pump but somehow my car wasn't in a recall list. Thank you

I have two kids and I believe this is the most dangerous car I’ve ever brought definitely something wrong with the engines in these cars someone dropped the ball. Hi All, I have been noticing in my TJ that when i start up in the morning, everything is fine. I then hit the road and about 30 seconds as I am accelerating the jeep starts balking and running rough, greatly losing power. I’ll push the clutch and watch the tach dip down to about stall, but I save it with a little gas. After about a minute of this power loss and stuttering, it seems to work perfectly fine for the rest of the drive. Once I park and let it sit off for a bit, it will do it all over again when I start on my way. I’m thinking bad O2 sensor, but not sure. I don’t have a check engine

I was unaware that there was anything wrong with my vehicle. No warnings, no nothing, and as i pulled out into traffic, all of a sudden my car would not go anywhere. In short: I had a whining noise coming from under my hood, my car was changing gears roughly. When I was driving on I-95 N and my car lost power/ the ability to accelerate on the highway. I had to make my way to the far-right lane and exit the highway. My safety was at risk at this point (no warning lights came on my dashboard). My car lost the ability to drive. I bought my Camry with 5 miles on it. It’s a 2.5L 8 speed Camry SE. immediately I felt something not right when it would shift between 3/4 gear. It would rock back and forth in a jerking motion. I drive a 2004 Ford Ranger, which I’ve had for the life of the truck. For a few years, I’ve had the CEL on more often than not, usually for codes related to oxygen sensors and cat converter. I’ve taken the truck to a couple of shops and had O2 sensors replaced (repeatedly), but the CEL has come back on within a few days. I’m not at all experienced with auto-work, but I’ve been trying to pick up some new skills (in the interest of not going broke). My son was driving down Interstate 71 at approx 65 mph in our 2018 Toyota Camry when it lost power. He was able to pull off to the side of the road and turned the car off. Once the car was restarted, he was able to drive it (at a maximum speed of 35 mph) to the closest exit where he pulled into a gas station. While trying to back it into a parking spot, the car would not go into reverse. We had the car towed back to the dealership that we purchased it new from (Kings Toyota). Approximately 3 days later we received word that the transmission needed to be replaced at the cost of 8200.00.

2016 Sierra, 103k mi, no error codes or lights. Without warning the clutch seems to completely disengage. I will loose every gear but Neutral. Taking the key out and starting it again fixes it for a time. Problems usually start after I come to a complete stop in Drive (like at a red light). Can someone tell me its a cheap fix computer problem please. I know its not the truth but it might make me feel better anyway. Thanks

I bought this car used with about 100k miles, took it for a test drive around the block at the local dealership and didn't hear anything at the time. When I took it on the freeway for the first time I heard the Whining noise. It only happens when there is a load on the transmission and gets louder as the speed increases. I know, beating a dead horse. Ford 10R80 transmission. Went to an independent shop to check fluid exchange price vs dealership. The guy there said don’t bother, it won’t help. Just drive it until it fails then replace it! I am still of the opinion I should have it done at 30,000 mile intervals. Dealership price is around $425. But back to flush vs pan drop. I think there are positions supporting both options.
