The transmission stopped working at approx 78,000 miles. The car completely died while driving with my children in the car. The tech said the fluid was black and there was no apparent cause of the transmission damage.

Couple days ago I notice both my tailights weren’t working also my license plates lights and parking lights weren’t working and also my headlights parking light don’t work anymore they all went bad at the same time. At night time nobody can’t barely see me besides my reflectors so nobody can’t see my at night time. The only thing tht works is mine brake light turn signal and brake light.

Transmission has not been right since purchase, complaints were left unaddressed until the complete failure of the transmission, of course out of warranty. This is a safety hazard, as well as Toyota offering no type of assistance.

I am the owner of a 2018 Toyota Camry purchased 08/31/2018. Toyota recalled 2018 Camry models built between 01/16/2017 and 09/13/2018 for a brake problem (internal campaign reference code JOK/JLD). My vehicle falls within this period but seems to not be included in the recall. I am writing to you because I have had at least six occasions where when parking the car and going very slowly the vehicle doesn't seem to want to stop. I am reporting a brake failure issue that matches the symptoms described in NHTSA Campaign Number 19V-544 (Toyota recall for brake booster vacuum pump failure). My 2018 Camry has experienced loss of brake assist, making it difficult to stop safely and requiring excessive pedal pressure. Despite these symptoms and the known recall for this issue, my VIN is not currently included. This raises concerns that the recall scope was too limited and that my vehicle should be included. The Shifting solenoid malfunctioned, burned up transmission and created a hazard on the roadway in high traffic areas. Vehicle stalled creating a backup in traffic and myself almost got rear ended. The Red McCombs Toyota did confirm it was a solenoid malfunction through a phone call and video. They concluded that the car is not operable. The problem has been inspected and was advised to pay a hefty fee of nearly $10,000. Prior to the failure no lights or warnings were provided by the car’s electrical system not until I parked and restarted the car that the lamps turned on after the failure.

I have a 2018 Toyota Camry SE in which the transmission has completely failed. If I drive the car without having it completely replaced it hesitates when trying to excel. I was almost hit several times while trying to pull out into traffic where the car wouldn't shift and accelerate when it needed to move quickly.

I have a Toyota Corolla Verso bought in 2005. Recently it has started to make a noise somewhere in the steering column. Whilst it is only as loud as a clanking keyring, the odd thing is that the noise is made at irregular moments, nothing to do with speed or turning. Most odd of all, the car can be motionless (engine running, handbrake on) and the noise will start and stop of its own accord, without anything moving. Yes, with my hands off the wheel! The contact owns a 2018 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while the transmission was shifting from 1st to 2nd gear and while accelerating from a stop, the vehicle jolted forward. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact stated the failure recurred one and a half weeks later while driving at an undisclosed speed and the engine revved but the vehicle failed to respond. I am writing this to complain about the 8 speed automatic transmission! My car’s tranny went out at 68,500 miles 4 MONTHS AGO. To this day, it’s still drivable but I worry any day now it will give out. I have been quoted staggering prices from 5.5k to 9k! No warning lights which was also surprising. A few weeks ago while idling in traffic my car starts lurching forward on it’s own, RPMs jumping considerably while my foot is all the way on the brake. The car didn’t legitimately move forward, but was trying to, and would’ve if I wasn’t already braking. Pretty freaky thing to have happen when you’re in bumper to bumper traffic. Heard a whining noise and brought to the dealer. They said my 2018 Camry SE with 78,000 miles needs a new transmission. The transmission is on a national back order. Toyota has a TSB out for the same model year Sienna and Highlander but will not acknowledge there is an issue with the Camry.

The transmission producing whining noise. The noise starts from about 5-10MPH and continually increases in pitch as the speed increases. The noise is constant and doesn’t break throughout the hear shifts. The noise stops the moment the accelerator is let go. The noise continues with any amount of the accelerator being pressed. My 2018 Toyota Camry with 132,000 started experiencing transmission issues in the last 10,000 miles or so - with hesitation in shifting. Now at 132,000 my transmission has officially fully failed. Upon bringing it to a reputable transmission repair shop, I learned that the repair would cost me over $8000 between parts (hard to find) and labor. This is wild as I expected a Toyota to last up and over 200k miles easily. This has absolutely tarnished my views on Toyota reliability! I even called corporate and they were absolutely no help!

It started to make whining noise while accelerating. The noise is coming from transmission. Also, periodic erratic gear changes have started to occur. Mechanic says it is a known problem with 2018 and 2019 Camry that transmission fails and makes noises prior to failing.

VEHICLE JERKS WHEN IN MOTION OR BEFORE BRAKING. THIS IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE IT COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. IT DOESN'T SEEM TO PROPERLY SWITCH SPEEDS WHICH ALSO CAUSE IT TO JERK FORWARD. I'VE RECEIVED 2 MASTER WARNINGS ALERTS THAT THE DEALERSHIP SAID, WEREN'T REGISTERED IN THE VEHICLES DATA BASE. THE MASTER ALERT IS LOUD AND FILLS UP MY DASHBOARD SO, IT HAPPENED. IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME.
