My warning panel told me to take the car to dealer for reprogram, and dealer said my wiring harness for hybrid electric system had been chewed by rodents and the harness and probably batteries should be replaced NOW or the car might catch fire. I replaced the harness and the batteries. When I asked to see the parts, they said they had boxed and shipped. So pretty much my Honda civic from 05 has been having cooling issues and I've done some work on the vehicle in attempts to fix the issue; I've replaced the entire engine, replaced both the radiator and fans, leak tested the system and have gone through 3 thermostats none of which have stuck. Though every time right before the engine begins to overheat the overflow reservoir coolant seems to have lightly spray out, I have never witnessed this actually happen but when I do pop the hood after the gauge seems higher than usual there is drops of coolant on the fan and the engine. 2014 Acura TSX, 157k miles, this car has an overflow coolant reservoir Yesterday I noticed a bubble sound when shutting off car. I noticed the coolant level in the reservoir was at the MIN mark. Thankfully the car didn’t run hot. After letting the car cool off, I toped it off to the MAX line. The problem is I did a complete drain and refill about 30k miles ago. This seems excessive to me, for the level to go from MAX to MIN in ~30k miles. I don’t know if this is normal? Coworker has a 2008 Hyundai Accent, which has overheated repeatedly, consumes a lot of coolant, and barely runs. He wants me to assist with repairing the engine, if possible. I assume by now, the head is warped or cracked, but what I am trying to determine is if the engine block in this model is iron or aluminum. If it’s iron, this can probably be repaired. If it’s aluminum, the entire engine would need to be replaced, which is more work than I would want to do.

I have an 1981 Honda CB750 bike that's been sitting in a garage in Arizona for 5 years. So far I've changed the battery and found all electrical components to be working. This morning my power steering stopped working and my heater and when I opened the hood there was coolant everywhere, looked like it came out of the radiator cap. The serpentine belt was off the lowest pulley and when I tried to put it back on I realized that pulley wasn't in line with the others, was not possible to put belt on. What would cause the pulley to move so far out of alignment and how can I fix it. Is this what's causing the other problems? It was below zero degrees last night and no garage.

My daughters low mileage RAV4 transmission fluid recently turned black. I check the fluid once a month, went from pink and sweet normal odor to black and no odor. No over heating, no codes, no driveability problems. We took it to a local shop and he is puzzled. The computer is not showing any overheating and the fluid does not smell burned. The shop drained and refilled the fluid, asked us to come back in 200 miles and he will drain again.(no charge for the second drain/refill) Anybody have any ideas on what might be happening?

I have recently bought a 2005 Grand Prix V6 non supercharged. It overheats at idle and in park. I have had my head gasket and head resurfaced at Pepboys and replaced my radiator with a larger 1 inch thick radiator. The thermostat was also with a new OEM one. Bled and burped my cooling system. No leaks anywhere. Bypassed the heater and capped the hosses. The car still wants to climb to the red. It has Dextron 50/50 and has been flushed. Both fans kick on with a good amount of breeze. How can I troubleshoot my cooling system to discover what the issue might be with the continued overheating?

I have a 2016 Subaru Forester with a persistent “passenger airbag off” message and an illuminated airbag light on the instrument cluster. My current code reader doesn’t have the capacity to read any codes associated with that system, so any advice about an affordable code reader that would work for this particular problem would be welcome. Hey guys I idle my car about once a month for 5 minutes to pump up all the tires (my tire inflator draws enough juice the car needs to be on to feed it) and every other month for 10-15 minutes to get rid of bubbles in the coolant from topping off the coolant level (yea I probably got a leak somewhere I’ll get it checked out sooner or later, also I brought up the whole bubble removal thing in a thread long ago). My cooling system is quite nasty and needs a flush. I followed instructions on radiator flush, which said to run the car no more than an hour. However few tutorial videos online suggest running radiator flush for few hundred kilometers. Understandably bottle instructions are more reliable source to follow but what happens when you run it for too long?

I have been chasing this overheating problem for a couple of months now, and I am thoroughly frustrated. The first issue was a hole in a short, S-shaped hose that goes from the the air bleed valve on the top of the water pump, to a metal line that goes back to the heater coil…I think. 2012 Malibu, 140k. Started about 1-2 months ago. It cranks but doesn’t start. The lights, radio, etc, come on just fine. I replaced the battery first off. I know I’m using the right port. I am not using the high pressure port. And I can not for the life of me fit the hose onto the low pressure port to charge my ac. I pressed the cap down and tried to fit it on the low pressure, I’m doing everything right, and I cant figure out why it wont fit.
